This young adult novel is actually an exciting piece that can be enjoyed by adults as well as teens. There is action, adventure, and suspense abound. Martial arts as well as adolescent anxieties help wrap this up in a neat package that is a great read. On top of it all, the author published it at 18 years old, a truly amazing feat.

Is it conceivable that two parents could be so hateful towards one daughter and not the other? Is it possible that grandparents could be so diametrically opposite the parents of their grandchildren with no logical reason?

Summer of My German Soldier – Bette Greene – Book Review

John Conlan and Lorraine Jensen interact as any teenagers who are not overwhelmed by the problems that beset them but deal with them as they come, sometimes not just one at a time. They alternate writing chapters to inject a multiple view of the same situation with pleasing variety. It is not unlike listening to two students eagerly revealing their escapades.
